SSHELTONBIGHTHINGSFORPROOFFRONTSSHELTONBIGHTHINGSFORPROOFBACK2This November  Betti Ono is pleased to present  "Big Things Have Small Beginnings"  a new solo show by Oakland based artist Santos Shelton. This will be the artists' first solo exhibition at Betti Ono after being featured in recent exhibitions  "Neu Folk Revival' at Le Qui Vive Gallery and "Quadrants" at Faultline Art Space. The opening reception for "Big Things Have Small Beginnings"  will take place on Saturday November 9, 2013 from 6-9 pm.  The exhibition runs November 9- December 6, 2013 and the gallery is open free to the public  Wednesday - Saturday from 12 - 5pm, Monday and Tuesday by appointment.Influenced by concepts of space, time, sci-fi and ancient civilizations, Santos Shelton gives us a glimpse into his mind and imagination with,” Big Things Have Small Beginnings.”  His art explores ideas like the big bang theory and planetary evolution and combines them with elements of abstraction to capture the immense power that creates a universe, galaxies, planets and life forms. This show serves as the birth of an idea with ever changing narratives and a multitude of ideas focused on a universe that Shelton has created to express not just the world and people around him, but to question the essence of existence itself.“My goal is to create something larger than myself. To manifest an Idea that lives beyond my own existence.”–Santos Shelton
