Wakanda Dream Lab Welcomes the Diaspora Home

Inspired by the invention and cultural foresight of Wakanda, Wakanda Dream Lab weaves together movement building and pop culture to inspire Black Oaklanders to define what liberation looks like. As artists in residence for Betti Ono’s The Fire Next Time: A Call & Response, this collective will launch “Black Future. Black Freedom. Black Oakland.” on August 2.

Wakanda Dream Lab’s “Black Future. Black Freedom. Black Oakland.” is a generative experience remixing cultural elements of fan fiction, unique story worlds, immersive installations and interactive events that connect and inspire fans of Wakanda and Afrofuturist fiction who dare to dream of collective liberatory futures.
